Sunshine Coast needs a highway
Ever increasing numbers of light and heavy commercial vehicles including fully loaded logging trucks.
Numerous feeder roads and private driveways make it dangerous to turn on and off the existing road.
Narrow and poorly maintained hard shoulders are unsafe and totally inadequate for cyclists and pedestrians.
Any accident or road blockage compromises emergency vehicle access to and from Sechelt hospital.
Speed limits are too high in residential areas so that school children and pedestrians are in constant danger crossing the road.
Inadequate passing lanes creates slow traffic, lineups and potential road rage.
Heavy rain has led to road damage and closures in Roberts Creek. Much of the Davis Bay Parkway is below flood level and often floods
Chapman Creek bridge built in 1958 is narrow and a bottleneck. There is no alternate route if it is damaged or closed.
