Sunshine Coast needs a highway
TO ACHIEVE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW, STATE OF THE ART, SPECTACULAR SCENIC HIGHWAY FROM LANGDALE TO SECHELT THAT MEETS THE NEEDS OF RESIDENTS, VISITORS, BUSINESSES, TRANSIT AND FIRST RESPONDERS, NOW AND IN THE YEARS TO COME.
An upper bypass would provide a direct route for
commercial transport and visitor traffic, taking
away volume, noise and danger from residential
areas.
Sunshine Coast residents would have a secondary
route for emergency transportation
UPPER BYPASS
Supports government and community sustainability goals
of increased safety, job creation and growth
Aligns with community OCP’s for walkable family friendly
communities and increased parklands
Allows the development of the existing highway into a
true community parkway.
SUSTAINABILITY
The possibility for a technology showcase of the newest
in highway design –
Illumination, drainage, paints and surface materials that
offer driver warning, wildlife corridors, energy integration
such as wind and solar power features, technology integration (weather, traffic and accident alerts), and
other sustainable features could be added.
